ABSTRAK

Indonesia memiliki banyak tanaman berkhasiat untuk penyembuhan penyakit,
diantaranya adalah daun lidah mertua (Dracaena trifasciata p)) ekstrak daun lidah
mertua mengandung senyawa polifenol, saponin, dan flavonoid yang bekerja
sebagai antibakteri. Sehingga penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sediaan
hand gel ekstrak dari daun lidah mertua mempunyai aktivitas sebagai antibakteri
dan mengetahui hasil uji stabilitas fisik dari sediaan hand gel daun lidah mertua.
Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan metode eksperimental dilaboratorium Teknologi
Farmasi dan Mikrobiologi Farmasi Institut Kesehatan Mitra Bunda Batam.
Ekstrak daun lidah mertua dibuat dalam sediaan gel dengan formulasi F0-F11 lalu
dilakukan pengujian anti bakteri dan stabilitas fisik dari sediaan hand gel daun
lidah mertua. Didapatkan hasil ekstrak daun lidah mertua dapat diformulasikan
menjadi bentuk sedian hand gel. Pada uji evaluasi sediaan gel yang lulus uji
adalah formulasi yang memiliki gelling agent xanthan gum serta formulasi dengan
konsentrasi 20% pada gelling agent xhantan gum memiliki uji aktivitas paling
efektif membunuh bakteri pada tangan.
