ABSTRAK

Inflamasi merupakan respon normal tubuh terhadap cidera atau kerusakan jaringan
yang di tandai dengan panas (kalor), nyeri (dolor), pembengkakan (tumor) dan
kemerahan (rubor). Daun matoa mengandung senyawa flavonoid yang berkhasiat
sebagai antiinflamasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efek antiinflamasi
dari ekstrak etanol daun matoa (Pometia pinnata) pada mencit jantan (Mus
musculus). Penelitian ini menggunakan hewan uji tikus sebanyak 15 ekor yang
dibagi dalam 5 kelompok perlakuan, yaitu kelompok I kontrol positif berupa
Natrium Diklofenak, kelompok II kontrol negatif berupa Na- CMC 2%, kelompok
III, IV dan V diberi suspensi ekstrak etanol daun matoa dengan konsentrasi 25
mg/kgBB, 50 mg/kgBB dan 100 mg/kgBB. Pengukuran dilakukan setiap jam ke-1,
2, 3, 4, 5 kemudian dicatat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ekstrak etanol
daun matoa berpotensi sebagai kandidat antiinflamasi dengan dosis yang paling
efektif dalam menurunkan diameter udem adalah dosis 100 mg/kgBB.
