ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah mi basah yang beredar di pasar
tradisional kota Batam mengandung zat aktif Methanyl yellow atau tidak. Untuk
mengetahui berapa kadar Methanyl yellow pada mi basah yang beredar di pasar
tradisional kota Batam. Metode penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian
eksperimental, dimana menggunakan pendekatan uji kualitatif dan uji kuantitatif.
Metode kualitatif dengan rancangan percobaan laboratorium untuk menentukan
adanya pewarna Methanyl yellow pada pewarna tepung panir dengan metode uji
tes Kit Methanyl yellow dengan menggunakan metode benang wol dan KLT. Dari
hasil penelitian identifikasi kandungan Methanyl Yellow pada mi basah dikota
Batam dapat disimpulkan bahwa dari hasil uji kualitatif menggunakan metode
kromatografi lapis tipis pada 13 sampel mie basah yang berbeda didapatkan
negative. Dari hasil uji kuantitatif menggunakan metode spektrofotometri UV-
Vis didapatkan hasil kurva Y=0,056x+0,185 R² = 0.9994.
